Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Key graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997 and relocated to Arkansas, to her parentsÂ’ dismay. Once she was in Arkansas, she knew she was home. She has worked for a veterinarian who is one of the worldÂ’s leaders in homeopathy, an equine colic referral center and owned her own clinic for six years. After a fire destroyed her Russellville clinic in 2013, she moved it across town. In 2015, she decided to sell the building and came to work for South County Animal Hospital. In January of 2016, she joined the clinic full time.Dr. Key and her family live in Dardanelle and includes two children, four step-children, sixteen horses (give or take), five American Bully dogs, three cats and a parrot. She enjoys showing her dogs (two are National Champions), riding and competing with her horses (Arabians and Welsh Ponies) and writing. She is the author of two books, The American Bully Book and a book of short stories entitled Horses Who Eat Potatoes. In her spare time she is working on a sequel to Horses Who Eat Potatoes and a new novel.Her veterinary interests include equine and canine reproduction, soft tissue surgery and homeopathy/nutrition. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
