Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Steven Bird was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He has been an animal lover throughout his life. He had a variety of pets as a child and has worked with farm animals as an adult in Illinois. Dr. Bird has had show-level Arabian horses, goats, cattle, and chickens. Dr. Bird also managed a pumpkin farm in Illinois where he had a menagerie of animals under his care. Dr. Bird completed his Bachelor in Biological Sciences at Northern Illinois University, where he also met his wife, Jenell, also completing her B.S. in Biological Sciences . In April 2012, Dr. Bird moved to the island of St.Kitts to complete his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University. He completed his clinical training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. Dr. Bird enjoys working at Hancock Veterinary Service, where clients are part of the veterinary family. He treats each animal as if it was his own. Dr. BirdÂ’s professional interests include nutrition, rehabilitation, and preventive medicine. While Dr. Bird loves all animals big and small, he has a special place in his heart for cats! Dr. Bird resides in Springdale with his wife and their nine year old rescue bunny, Sammi. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his family on Norfork Lake. Dr. Bird is current goal is to increase his Spanish fluency.
