Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Amanda Varney was born in Allentown, PA and moved to Tucson just after she finished kindergarten. She attended University High School, and then obtained her B.S in Biology from Arizona State Universitys Honors College (now known as the Barretts Honors College). She then was accepted at Colorado State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences and moved north to Fort Collins, Colorado. After four great years in Veterinary School it was time to go out in the real world! Dr. Varney moved back to Arizona and completed a one year internship at Mesa Veterinary Hospital (now the Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona). Since then she has been in general practice in Mesa and Fountain Hills. Her practice interests include anything and everything pertaining to cats, pain management, dentistry and regenerative medicine (stem cell therapy). She has been happily married since 2006 to Art Professor at Mesa Community College. They share their home with two cats: a domestic short hair named Flip, and a La Perm named Banksy, and two dogs: a sweet Pit Bull Lakota (aka Poodle) and a goofy German Shepherd mix named Rembrandt (Remi). When not at work you can find her playing her with daughter Rosabella, cooking or reading.
