Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Ko received her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University, College of Electrical Engineering and began working in the aerospace industry and commercial corporations on designing digital signal processors and commercial database systems. Her curiosity in applying engineering science that can make a real impact in medicine lead her to pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, her mentors inspired her in ophthalmology, neurology and soft tissue surgery.;After graduation, Dr. Ko spent time in small animal practice in Southern California before pursuing a joint ophthalmology internship at Eye Care for Animals in Tustin, CA, and an ophthalmic pre-clinical commercial and research laboratory in Irvine, California. After completing the small animal ophthalmic internship, Dr. Ko continued focusing in translational medicine and biomedical science. In 2011, she received a travel grant to present her research project at International Society of Clinical and Electrophysiology and Vision (ISCEV) at Perth, Australia. Dr. Ko joined Eye Care for Animals Residency Program in 2013.
