Veterinarian Overview
Melissa graduated from Cornell University in 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. She went on to St. Kitts, where she earned her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, followed by her clinical year, which she completed at Auburn University in January 2010. Following graduation, she opened her mixed animal practice in Malta, Europe where she met her husband, Charles. Together, they returned to New York where she worked at the NYRA circuit of Thoroughbred racing at Belmont, Aqueduct, and Saratoga. Dr. Grech has special interests in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She is also a certified dog trainer specializing in behavior. She joined Carter Animal Hospital in November of 2016. In her spare time, she loves to find adventure with her beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, ride horses, and indulge in any other outdoor activity she can manage.
