Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Messerlian grew up in Santa Barbara, Ca. She spent her summers vacationing and then working for a guest ranch in the Sierras where her love for large animal medicine started. She attended UC Santa Barbara for her undergraduate work, graduating in 2000. She went on to UC Davis for her veterinary degree and graduated in 2005. She completed a one year internship at Great Basin Equine in Gardnerville, NV and then stayed on for an additional year fellowship before joining LAVS in 2007. While at Great Basin Dr. Messerlian focused on expanding her general practice skills and had a special interest in equine anesthesia. Dr. Messerlian is a general practitioner with an interest in anesthesia, medicine cases, foal work, and reproduction. She has been taking over more of the reproduction services this spring. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Messerlian enjoys hiking with her dogs, riding her horse, raising bottle calves, and spending time with her husband and daughter, Paisley.
