Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Ilsi Medearis is Chief veterinarian at SPEC. Ilsi grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, and graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She initially worked as an equine practitioner in Portola Valley, CA, and later worked as a staff veterinarian at the Peninsula Humane Society. Ilsi returned to the Davis area in 1992 and began working at SPEC as a full-time emergency veterinarian where she has remained on staff since. Ilsi is a member of the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society. She is certified as a mixed animal veterinary acupuncturist through the Chi Institute, and is currently studying traditional Chinese veterinary Herbology. She is passionate about integrating her 20 plus years of emergency experience with her more recent education in tradition Chinese Veterinary medicine. Ilsi is an avid equestrian and enjoys riding with her husband and their equestrian partners, Timon and Indilove Chatelet.
