Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Richard Heise was born and raised in the city of Upland, CA. As long as he can remember, he has wanted to be a veterinarian. He grew up with numerous pets including dog, cats, reptiles, rodents, rabbits and fish. After graduating from Upland High School, he attended the University of California, Davis where he received a Bachelors of Science in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology in 1999. The next couple of years were spent doing Wildlife and environmental work in the Sacramento and San Francisco areas. In 2003, the journey to becoming a Veterinarian continued with his acceptance into the college of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. Dr. Heise graduated with the charter class from Western University in 2007. His veterinary interests are surgery, exotic animal medicine (especially reptiles), internal medicine and dermatology. He is constantly trying to improve his skills and knowledge by attending conferences and local seminars. When Dr. Heise is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, as well as their 3 dogs. His hobbies include sports, playing guitar, hiking and exercising. He also spends time as referee for the local AYSO
