Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Edward Cole, owner and Chief of Staff at Irvine Veterinary Services, is a 1972 graduate of Ohio State University Veterinary School. He graduated with honors in the top 10% of his class. In 1972 he relocated to Southern California and became the city of Irvines first practicing Veterinarian. In those early days I called on and cared for farm animals at UCI and Lion Country Safari and took care of emergency cases for my clients. The opportunity to learn in practice was unprecedented the pace was exhausting but very, very satisfying. Dr. Cole served as the first Chairman of the City of Irvine Animal Advisory Board and helped create Irvines Animal Care charter and operating guidelines including the building of Irvines Animal Care Facility. Dr. Cole served as President of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association from 1978 to 1979. The Coles live with two miniature Pinchers, Lincoln and Conner a standard Poodle Chance, and a Brussels Griffon, Lizzie. In addition, the Coles live with Simba, Manny, Grover, Omar, and Tyler, all Burmese cats. My wife Pam and I love all animals, and care deeply about our staff, our clients, and especially our patients. Pam works hard to make sure our practices are well cared for; so that we in turn can assure that our clients and patients get the highest quality care possible. When we are not lending to our practices and patients, we enjoy running, touring any museum or art gallery and, or course, cheering on the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dr. Cole enjoys all aspects of practice but has a special interest and concern for senior pets. When you have been in practice as long as I have you get to know your patients over a 10 to 15 year period. Clients become very special to you and you feel the love between pet and owner. That bond between them is so strong and true. Being able to witness that love is one of the most meaningful experiences a Veterinarian can have.
