Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Bettegowda Dr. Gowda to his clients and fellow staffgrew up in India to a family with extensive agricultural and farming roots, which influenced him to pursue veterinary medicine. In 2000, Dr. Gowda graduated from veterinary college in Bangalore with his DVM degree. After vet school, he pursued a scientific research career in animal reproduction studying animal eggs, for which he was awarded a PhD from Michigan State University in 2007. He then furthered his science training at the University of California, San Diego. In June 2014, Dr.Gowda came to Lemon Grove Veterinary Hospital. Earlier to that he practiced in several privately-held and corporate-owned pet hospitals in Southern California. He even volunteered in various humane societies, animal shelters and at an animal specialty hospital in San Diego. Dr. Gowda has interests in all aspects of internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry and surgery. He continues to enjoy learning, and regularly attends education seminars to keep abreast of cutting-edge advances in companion animal medicine. He is an active member of CVMA and AVMA. At home, Dr. Gowda enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys, a four-year-old and a one-year-old.
