Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Melinda Faubel Newton grew up in the Yuba-Sutter area and participated in local 4-H and FFA programs before attending Yuba College and the University of California, Davis and receiving her Bachelor's degree in Avian Science. She returned to school after a management career with Foster Farms Poultry and earned her DVM degree from UC Davis. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, exercise physiology, behavior, and education. Dr. Mel is active in the sport of equestrian endurance riding with a special love for 100 mile rides. She also enjoys the sport of Ride and Tie, driving in harness, running ultramarathons and can regularly be found on local trails training with her dog Tess and her horses Farley and MerryLegs.
