Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Susan is a Southern California native and grew up with an array of pets birds, fish, and dogs. At the young age of six, her parakeet developed a bump under its wing, and was taken to the vet for examination. She was in awe during the entire examination process she knew she wanted to be a vet from a very young age. As she got older, she volunteered for her local animal hospital helping technicians give medications to in-house patients, taking animals for walks, and setting up diagnostic tests. After she obtained her undergraduate degree in biology, she started working as a receptionist at a hospital in Santa Monica that saw a variety of animals cats, dogs, birds, small mammals, and reptiles. She pursued her veterinary career by attending RUSVM in the Caribbean, where she spent 2.5 years on the island, then finished her clinical training at University of Tennessee School of Veterinary Medicine, and obtained her doctorate degree in September 2013. Dr. Susan enjoys attending various Continuing Education lectures to stay up-to-date with current therapies and advances in veterinary medicine.
