Veterinarian Overview
Born and raised in chilly New England, Dr. Williams welcomed the warm and sunny climate of Southern California when he moved here after graduating from the University of Missouri in 1982. He spent his summers in Missouri, working the farm with his Dad, so it was natural for him to specialize in Equine Veterinary Medicine. He grew up learning to appreciate not only the brute strength and work ethic of these beautiful animals, but also their remarkable intelligence and gentle nature. Doc Williams, or Dr. Mike, as his clients affectionately call him, began his veterinary career at Norco Equine Veterinary Hospital, and immediately felt at home with that small-town feel that Norco offers. Over the years, his clients have become his friends, and their horses feel like his own pets. It is because of these relationships that Doc shows up to work every day. He knows that these horses are like family to his clients, and he would do whatever it takes to keep these family members healthy. Speaking of family, did you know Doc has 2 grandchildren?!? It seems that everyone in Norco does! He is a proud Grandpa to Noah and Ava, and he jokes that his clients MUST be sick of seeing pictures of them! He also has 3 handsome sons-Nick, Jason and Nathan and one daughter, Noelle. He has been married to his wife, Teri since 1987 and they live in Corona. Docs family teases him that he has a wealth of useless knowledge, and this is likely due to his addiction to crossword puzzles! In the summer, he roots for the Red Sox, and in the fall he cheers for the Patriots. His daughter, who lives in Wisconsin, is trying desperately to convert him into a Cheese-Head, so dont be surprised if you occasionally see him sporting his Green Bay Packers hat!
