Dr. Cecilia Morris, DVM, combines a life-long love of animals and years of education, training and experience to provide the best possible care for her patients and the families to which they belong. Treating each animal brought to her as if it were her own, Dr. Morris focuses on the pet’s quality of life. She works with pet owners as part of what she sees as a team effort to help animals stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible. Some of Dr. Cecilia Morris’ qualifications include: 25+ years experience practicing veterinary medicine. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from U.C. Davis. Bachelor of Science in Zoology, with honors, from U.C. Berkeley. In-depth training in emergency medicine, internal medicine and surgery for small animals. Member of American Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the San Diego Veterinary Medical Association. Born and raised in San Francisco, Dr. Morris decided to become a veterinarian at the age of 13, when she and her family took an injured rabbit to the San Francisco Zoo to receive medical treatment. She later received her bachelor’s degree in zoology, with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley. In 1992, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis. During a one-year internship in Sacramento, Dr. Morris specialized in small animal medicine and surgery and obtained in-depth training and experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Morris began working in general practice in the neighborhood where she grew up, spending two years at Balboa Pet Hospital with Dr. Paul Clary. After marrying Dr. Ned Morris in 1995, Dr. Cecilia Morris moved to San Diego County, where she spent three years at a general practice in Clairemont and another three years in North County. Drs. Ned and Cecilia Morris acquired the Rancho Del Oro Veterinary Hospital in Oceanside and began practicing here in 2000. The practice has become a family affair, with her retired husband, Ned, serving as business manager and chief financial officer. The Morris’ have three children, Natalie, Brian and Amy and six pets. Lucky, a 7-year-old corgi, a 6-year-old Chihuahua named Max, and a 3-year-old Pomeranian named Fuzzie live with the Morrises at home. Dr. Cecilia Morris has been awarded BEST VET of San Diego. Based on public and peer reviews, BEST VET of San Diego has presented a certificate to the office. Dr. Morris’ name is listed and she has been recommended on Animal Planet 2012. Dr. Cecilia Morris enjoys spending time with her family, camping, playing piano, and marksmanship with her husband.
