Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Lagerwerff, principal owner of The Animal Doctors clinic, has practiced veterinary medicine for over 40 years. His special areas of professional interest include animal diagnostics, geriatric medicine, wellness and behavior. In addition to decades of work with animals in the San Francisco Bay area, he ran free veterinary clinics in rural Cabo San Lucas for five years, where he vaccinated, spayed and neutered animals at no charge, as well as ran an animal awareness education program. In the United States, he has volunteered with Wildlife Rescue and was honored with the 1984 Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Peninsula Humane Society. In his free time, Dr. Lagerwerff enjoys weight lifting, reading and practicing his native Dutch language. He is the proud owner of two cats and two dogs, all of them mixed breeds.
