Veterinarian Overview
Born in Korea, Dr. Joo and her family moved to the United States when she was a teenager. Choosing veterinary medicine as her second career, Dr. Joo earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Western University in 2013. Since recognizing animal care as her calling, Dr. Joo has greatly enjoyed working as a veterinarian. Dr. Joo majored in general biology as an undergraduate and earned a bachelor of science from Cal Poly Pomona in 2006. Her first career was owning two retail flower shops. Though successful, Dr. Joo made the important decision to sell her shops and pursue her longtime dream of becoming a veterinarian. Looking back she recognizes that it was both the most difficult and yet best decision she could have made for herself. Continuing to educate herself in veterinary medicine, Dr. Joo maintains her medical license in good standing. She enjoys taking courses offered by the Veterinary Information Network (VIN). She also loves every moment spent with her eight year old male cat (shell tell you he has the best personality in the whole world), and a rambunctious seven month old male puppy.
