Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mike Hellman graduated from Texas A & M University with a degree in veterinary medicine. He practiced veterinary medicine at two other private practices before coming to work at River Oak Veterinary Hospital in 1982. While enjoying medical cases and preventative medicine, he has a great fondness for surgery, especially orthopedics. With a strong belief in practicing progressive and innovative medicine and surgery, he has continued to further his education through attendance at a wide variety of continuing education classes and workshops each year.He enjoys volunteering his time at local elementary and high school Career Day, where he indicates to the students that he is in the "22nd grade." In his time away from the office, you can find him snowboarding or bicycling. Since his 3 children are grown, he especialy enjoys riding his tandem bicycle with his wife, Jane. Currently, they have 3 cats and 2 dogs.
