Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Katie Liu grew up in the East Bay, and she earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. She returned to California and received her veterinary degree at UC Davis in 2004. Following graduation, she completed a one year rotating small animal internship and then continued as an associate veterinarian at a general and specialty referral hospital, Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic in Loomis, CA. Eager to return to her native Bay Area, she moved back in 2007 and has worked on the Peninsula ever since, particularly at The Animal Doctors in Palo Alto and performing surgeries at the Humane Society Silicon Valley. She enjoys the diversity of cases in veterinary medicine, with particular interests in feline medicine, surgery and preventative medicine. Katie lives in San Mateo with her husband, Rob, and their children, Gabe and Lily. They also share their home with one sweet Pit Bull mix, Dexy, three cats, Stella, Milton and Cap'n Jack, and two fish, Eva and Corner. In her limited free time, she enjoys swimming, hiking and reading.
