Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Wong was born (1947) and raised in San Francisco. He grew up in the Chinatown-North Beach neighborhood and attended the local public schools. His first job was a kennel attendant at a local veterinary hospital. In 1970, he was accepted to the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation from U.C. Davis in 1974, Dr. Wong practiced one year before starting at Blue Cross Pet Hospital in 1975. He eventually became a partner with Dr. David M Strohauer and worked as a team for more than 30 years before Dr. Strohauer retired. In 2013, after owning the practice for 38 years, Dr. Wong sold Blue Cross Pet Hospital to Dr. Wonjae Lee. He is currently working part-time at Blue Cross Pet Hospital and says he still enjoys being a veterinarian and seeing clients and their pets. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, golf, tennis, trying to stay in shape at the gym, following the Warriors, Giants, 49'ers and going on walks with his pug named Buddy.
