Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Michael Harrington, an Idaho Native, earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine at Washington State University, graduating at the top of his class. He returned to Washington State University to become the first resident in Neurology and Neurosurgery, where he participated in brain tumor research and also completed his Masters degree in Veterinary Science. He later accepted a clinical instructorship in neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Missouri.A board certified diplomate in Neurology and Neurosurgery through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Dr. Harrington has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, and publications, and has participated in many presentations at the local and national level. He has been involved with radiation biology projects, stereotactic radiosurgery, seizure surgery and the advancement of neurosurgical techniques in both large and small animals. Dr. Harrington is studying integrative medicine for neurologic disease (acupuncture and herbal therapy) and he works closely with many law enforcement agencies in the treatment of their Working K9's. Nearly all of Dr. Harrington's free time is spent studying integrative medical therapies and with his German Shepherd Orion.
