Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kimberly J. Caruso is a DVM graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a small animal rotating internship at Texas A& M College of Veterinary Medicine. She then went on to finish a residency in Veterinary Clinical Pathology at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and is a board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. Recently, she obtained certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Coral Springs, Florida. She currently works as our small animal emergency doctor and will be overseeing the Canine Rehabilitation Center of Valencia providing rehabilitation to animals for orthopedic, soft tissue and neurological injuries and conditions as well as post-operative recovery. In addition, she also emphasizes the importance of weight management, preventative injury, physical conditioning and long term management of chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis for the health and well-being of our pets lifelong. Dr Caruso also has an interest in regenerative medicine and offers stem cell therapy for her patients with both acute and chronic injuries such as arthritis and soft tissue injuries. When not practicing clinical medicine, Dr. Caruso provides pathology services to veterinarians in the surrounding area through Veterinary Cytopathology Services.Dr. Caruso's love for animals goes beyond the walls of Valencia Veterinary Center. At home, she cares for several rescue dogs and raises and shows Morgan horses at local, regional and National events. Besides riding and showing horses, she also enjoys gardening, reading and drawing animal portraits.
