Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Hector Rivera purchased Four Paws Veterinary Clinic in December of 2013. As a child, Dr. Rivera always dreamed of becoming a medical doctor. It wasn't until after completing a high school project at the veterinary medical school near his home that he realized how much he truly enjoyed working with animals. Dr. Rivera graduated from the University of Guadalajara in 1987 and moved to California shortly after with the goal of learning english to improve his skills as a Veterinarian. Dr. Rivera arrived in California, and although he was already a licenced Veterinarian in Mexico, he was able to get a job as a kennel worker and worked his way up to an RVT, which he continued to do for the next 13 years while continuing his education. Dr. Rivera completed his foreign veterinarian graduate program at Iowa State University of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After graduation, Dr. Rivera started working as a relief Veterinarian for private practices. Dr. Rivera finally settled down at an animal hospital as a full time veterinarian, occasionally doing some relief work, until 2013 when he purchased Four Paws Veterinary Clinic! Dr. Rivera is married to his beautiful wife Kathy and has three children Jonathan, Adrian, and Nayeri, but we cannot forget Daisy (French Poodle), the four legged Rivera baby . In his free time Dr. Rivera enjoys watching and even playing a little Soccer.
