Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Laura Buntrock graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in June, 2013. She knew early on that she wanted to become a Veterinarian, as she was raised in her fathers Veterinary hospital and loved every minute of it. Her fathers Veterinary hospital provided her the unique opportunity to supplement her Veterinary education at UC Davis with additional experience, including volunteering her surgical skills to FieldHaven Feline Center to spay and neuter cats and dogs prior to their adoption to loving homes. Her experience solidified her appreciation for pet adoption and shelter animal populations. Dr. Buntrock also has a particular interest in dermatology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery (i.e. mass removal, spay, neuter, cystotomy, limb amputation). She especially enjoys new pet exams, as it allows her to educate new pet owners about appropriate preventative care, socialization, training, and nutrition for their new addition to the family. If you are contemplating adopting a new dog or cat, please do not hesitate to talk to Dr. Buntrock about any questions you may have. Dr. Buntrocks favorite aspect of working at The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks is knowing that all team members genuinely care about the patients they work with every day and treat each pet with kindness and respect. When not working at The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks, Dr. Buntrock enjoys attending stand-up comedy shows, running and hiking with her Boston Terrier, Taz, and three-legged Australian Shepherd mix, Venice, and relaxing at home with her fiancé, Jack, her dogs, and her special needs cat, Bob. To those who have met her, they will realize that Dr. Buntrock is an open book so if you want to know something about her, all you have to do is ask!
