I would not recommend Dr. Melissa Cody for vet care of any sort. She conducted a uninformative consultation and provided substandard care to my pet in need. She met with us for only a few minutes and provided a very minimal report of the physical exam conducted. No recommendations, insight or answers were provided. She did not discuss preventative care nor discuss any medical conditions in detail. She did not allow time for us to ask any follow-up questions or have any sort of discussion. Our primary concern of the blood found on my dog was completely dismissed. Dr. Melissa Cody refused to provide any medication due to possible “GI issues” which was not ever reported. She refused to provide medication until additional testing was paid for, costing over $1500 in addition to the $250 we already paid for a poor examination and a test on something he was already vaccinated for. She urged us to pay for testing and x-rays to look into a UTI while also stating that our dog most likely does not have a UTI and did not see any evidence of blood during her physical examination. This consultation gave us no information whatsoever, and was a complete waste of the money paid for it. She gave off the appearance of just wanting to go home (we were her last patient), and did not try to provide a service at all. Additionally, she held our pet hostage which caused stress for my pet. During the consultation with Dr. Melissa, our pet was not brought back to us even though the testing and physical examination was already completed. She waited to bring him back until we discussed giving her more money. With any other vet we have seen, animals are immediately released back to their owner as soon as possible in order to make the pets and owners as comfortable as possible. This was not the case here. During the quick and uninformative consultation I could hear my dog crying, barking and panicking the entire time. It was incredibly concerning that I even spoke out and asked Dr. Melissa Cody if our dog was okay. She did not even go back to check, she said he’s fine without really knowing.
