Veterinarian Overview
Dr. James Sexton (Jim) earned his Bachelor's degree at Ohio State in 1986. He continued at Ohio State to earn his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Following school, Dr. Sexton arrived in the East San Francisco Bay area and accepted his first position in Danville. For over ten years he has served the people and pets of East Bay, practicing exclusively in Alamo since 2000. Dr. Sexton has extensive experience in diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care for companion animals. He has treated skin, ear, kidney, and liver diseases, as well as allergy and dental concerns, and has performed literally thousands of successful elective and non-elective surgrical procedures. Among his more challenging cases, he has removed a ten pound cancerous spleen from a Labrador Retriever, two-inch diameter rocks from a dog's stomach and intenstine, and one-inch diameter unrinary stones from a dog's bladder. He also successfully removed tumors from a twenty year old cat. He presently lives in Walnut Creek with his wife, Laurain, and their two children, Jamie and Matthew. He enjoys fitness training, snowboarding, and mountain biking.
