Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Janna Perez is a native of the San Francisco Peninsula. In 2007, she graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science. Shortly after, Dr. Perez worked in biomedical research working with transgenic chickens. As a Navy spouse, she relocated to New Jersey and began working as a veterinary technician. In 2009, Dr. Perez returned to California to pursue her dream to become a veterinarian at Western University of Health Sciences. She graduated with honors and a member of Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. Prior to joining Monte Vistas team, Dr. Perez was a solo small animal practitioner in Sacramento. Her interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dermatology and emergency medicine. She has completed a certification in advanced diagnostic ultrasound with over 140 hours of formal training performing abdominal and cardiac ultrasounds. She strives for lifelong learning to provide the best care to her patients. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VEECS). Aside from practicing medicine, she enjoys relaxing by watching a good movie, gardening or spending time with family and friends. Dr. Perez has been married for over a decade to her husband Jason and shares her home with 3 chihuahuas and 3 cats: Jazmin, Nalah, Gabby, Bianca, Luna and Raisin.
