Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Katrina Frost was raised on a farm in rural Alberta, Canada, where caring for many different animals was part of her daily life. She worked as a registered veterinary technician for several years before attending the University of Calgarys Veterinary Medicine program in Calgary, Alberta. After graduation, Dr. Frost packed up her cats and moved to the greater Chicago area to complete a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Speciality Center in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Following her internship, she worked as an ER veterinarian for one year before accepting a residency with Dermatology for Animals. Dermatology became Dr. Frosts passion after adopting an atopic dog and a food-allergic cat. This experience has enabled her to better appreciate the challenges that clients face and has allowed her to develop a deeper respect for the human-animal bond. Honoring these precious relationships is what motivates her to practice the best medicine possible, in the most compassionate manner. When not in scrubs, Dr. Frost enjoys painting, geocaching, camping, biking, and seeing live music. She is a proud cat lady and has three cats; Sallee, Forty, and Lugaro. Dr. Frost joined the Dermatology for Animals Resident Program in 2019 and is practicing at our Gilbert, Scottsdale, Avondale and Tucson Arizona locations
