Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Hamilton joined Geary Veterinary Hospital in September 2009 as an associate veterinarian. She can be found in the office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College (South Hadley, MA) with a degree in biology in 1996, and from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health with a MPH in epidemiology in 2000. Prior to deciding to become a veterinarian, she worked as an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA and then as an infectious disease epidemiologist for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in Boston, MA. She moved to California to join her (transplanted) family in 2003, graduating from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She completed a rotating internship at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists in 2009, and joined the Geary Vet team shortly afterwards. She understands the unique human-animal bond and in an effort to provide the best care possible for each individual, Dr. Hamilton works hard to get to know each client and patient. When not at work, she spends time with her husband and their young son, Hawk. In addition to the humans, she also shares her home with two cats, Wren and Flair.
