Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Carole Rose opened her practice in 2002. As the owner of South Windsor Veterinary Clinic, she has brought to the community the feel of a small town veterinary practice. When she decided to become a veterinarian, the choice was simple. Dr. Rose combined her love for science with her love for animals. She always loved solving puzzles, and there is no more complex puzzle than medicine. A Connecticut native, Carole graduated from Bolton High School, then obtained a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut. She obtained her Degree of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 from Cornell University. She then practiced mixed animal (companion and farm animal) medicine locally before deciding to focus primarily on companion animals in a private practice setting. As she began practicing here in South Windsor, she soon embraced the role that pets play in our lives and knew she wanted to be a part of helping families. Her passion in keeping pets healthy and happy is a significant one and she regularly becomes very close with her patients and their owners. While Dr. Rose has little time away from the clinic, she does find moments to spend with her family. Her special family includes her husband Louie,(who we could not do without and takes care of all of the facility details); her beautiful daughter Maria; a dog named Westley (many of you may already know him as our in house blogger), two horses John(her old man she has had since 1986) and Minnie; and one cat named Misty. When time allows for a mini vacation, the family enjoys tubing on the Connecticut River, hiking and boating in Vermont, horseback riding and reading mystery novels.
