Veterinarian Overview
A Midwest girl at heart, Tonya was born and raised in Minnesota and earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After a lifetime of winters, in 2003 she made her way west in search of adventure and warm weather. Now after 12 years of living in San Diego she is proud to call herself a San Diegan. After finishing vet school at Western University of Health Sciences, she and her husband happily moved back to San Diego and now live in the wonderful community of South Park. After graduation in 2013, she completed a rigorous rotating internship with California Veterinary Specialists and has enjoyed working in emergency medicine and general practice around San Diego. She has special interests in internal medicine, radiology and soft tissue surgery.Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband (both domestic and international), hiking and exploring San Diego with their dogs Bucky (Boston Terrier) and Sheba (Pitt-Lab mix), yoga, cooking and eating good food and a good snuggle with their one-eyed cat Gatsby. She and her husband are expecting their first child fall 2015.Dr. Gossard is thrilled to now call Kensington Veterinary Hospital her home and looks forward to meeting your families and pets and working with you in the years to come.
