Randy Dominguez was scheduled to do a procedure on my dog this morning, and it required general anesthesia. I brought her to the appointment, and she was taken inside. I was informed they were going to get started with a catheter. My dog is 19 years old and has a heart condition. I was concerned about the anesthesia and asked to talk to the doctor. Randy Dominguez came out and asked me if I had questions. I asked where my dog’s doctor was. I found out later that they had scheduled it incorrectly, and the procedure was not supposed to happen without the regular vet present. Minutes later Randy Dominguez stormed out of the clinic, saying the procedure needed to be rescheduled to a time when my dog’s vet is present. I did not request for the procedure to be cancelled and was stunned by the fact he just took off so abruptly. I ran after him in the parking lot and told him my dog was in pain and needed treatment that depended on the procedure. To that Randy Dominguez responded “That is your problem”. He closed the door of his van and looked away as I said “she’s 19 years old, you can’t just walk away. How dare you leave us. She needs this. She is in pain”. He then walked out of the van, stood in front of me and said once more “that is your problem”. I told him as he walked back into the van that we had travelled a long way to have the procedure done. He turned around and said “I travelled too” and went back inside the van, sat down and his last words before the van drove away were “fucking bitch.”
I don’t know the reasons why he was in such a hurry. If anything, it’s none of my business. But one thing I know, he has no reason to be disrespectful. The staff at the clinic heard him saying several times “That’s your problem”. He will deny he ever called me a “fucking bitch” when he sat at the van. I’m not worried about that. I don’t need to prove anything. I just feel sorry for any animal that will ever be under his care. Beware.
