Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Paula Ferreira obtained her veterinarian degree from the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Upon arriving in the United States, she successfully passed the National board of veterinary medicine exam (NAVLE) and the 1-year ECFVG program (Education Comission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Ferreira has practiced rural veterinary medicine in the Amazon and urban medicine in Rio de Janeiro, New York, and now Miami. After working at a large general veterinary practice in Miami for 7 years, she decided to go after her dream of building a veterinary hospital where she can practice the best quality medicine in a modern facility while providing personalized patient care. Dr. Ferreira has special interest in holistic medicine - she studied veterinary acupuncture at IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, Houston, Texas) and has been practicing it along with traditional veterinary medicine with great success for many years. Dr. Ferreira has her own 2 dogs and 2 cats to keep her grounded.
