Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Michael Ammermon started his undergraduate study with aspirations to become a pediatrician. He grew up in a very small town and always had an affinity for animals of all shapes and sizes. Out of necessity, he took a job with a veterinarian to help pay his tuition and living expenses while in college. It was this experience that developed his passion for the veterinary profession. The challenge and diversity provided by veterinary practice was exactly what he needed to maintain compassion for his profession. After completing his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University, he was accepted to the University of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned his doctorate degree. It was there that he met his wife (Dr. Myra Burnsed Ammermon).Dr. Ammermon has many interests within the wide spectrum of veterinary medicine, but has a driving passion for surgery and critical care. He also enjoys getting to know the patients and clients who come under his care, as well as spending time with his family.
