Associate Veterinary Clinician Dr. Alling H. Yancy joined the veterinary team at Benning Animal Hospital in March 1994.InspirationGrowing up in Western Kentucky, Dr. Yancy was inspired to join the animal care field while observing the veterinarian who took care of his family's pets. Before earning his veterinary degree, Dr. Yancy volunteered at two different veterinary clinics. He says the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian is "the fulfillment that comes from serving as a vehicle through which medical miracles flow."EducationDr. Yancy earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Murray State University in 1998 with highest honors. He then went on to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 with honors.Professional InterestsOver his 20 years of practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Yancy has developed professional interests in general practice and preventive medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.Personal InterestsDr. Yancy shares his home with his wife, Abbey, and their two cats: a Siamese named Clive and a tabby named Chloe. In his free time, Dr. Yancy enjoys traveling, theatre, movies, concerts and operating his own private food safety consulting business.back to top
