Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Millers close relationship with Mud, his black Labrador retriever, showed him the profound bond possible between a loving pet owner and their treasured friend. Because of his special experience with Mud, Dr. Miller wanted to help other pet owners nurture that life-changing bond with their furry family members. By becoming a veterinarian, and working to keep his clients pets healthy, Dr. Miller feels he can contribute to longer, more active owner/pet relationships! Born in Illinois, Dr. Miller and his family moved to West Des Moines when he was a small child. After graduating from high school, he earned his bachelors degree from Truman State University in 2009. Answering his veterinary calling, Dr. Miller spent several intense years pursuing a veterinary medicine degree at Iowa State University. In 2013, Dr. Miller achieved his goal, earning a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine. While Dr. Mlller enjoys the rewards of general veterinary practice work, he also cultivates a few areas of special interest. He thoroughly enjoys soft tissue surgery, and orthopedic surgery and cardiology intrigue him as well. Dr. Miller and his wife Rebecca are happiest when they spend time outdoors. The couple enjoys bicycling and gardening together; and he plays a rowdy game of football whenever possible. In fact, Dr. Millers always ready to participate in any type of physical competition. This animal-loving couple shares their active lives with Lizzy, their charming Labrador retriever cross with boundless energy and a free spirit.
