Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jason was raised in OFallon, Illinois and graduated high school in 1993. After graduation he attended and played football at the United States Air Force (USAF) Academy. In 1998 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the USAF and stationed in San Antonio, Texas. In 2002 he earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from Auburn University Montgomery. After serving nine years as an active duty communications officer and teaching Air Force ROTC at SIUC, Dr. Jason attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May of 2010. Upon graduation he was hired as a full time swine veterinarian by The Maschhoffs in Carlyle, Illinois. During this time Dr. Jason also worked in small animal practice on the weekends. In December 2012 Dr. Jason bought Lakeside Veterinary Hospital in Carbondale and Lakeside Veterinary Clinic in Energy. Dr. Jason is happily married and has one daughter and a son. He and his wife are both licensed coaches with the US Soccer Federation and enjoy coaching their daughters soccer team together. Dr. Jasons family has two pets: Missy and Champ. Missy showed up as a stray at Dr. Jasons house in Montgomery, Alabama and has been his loyal companion for over 11 years. Champ was a rescue that Dr. Jason treated while in small animal practice on weekends. Prior to Champs adoption, he sustained a traumatic injury which required the removal Champs left front paw. Champ has been fitted with a prosthetic and now has four good legs. In his free time, Dr. Jason enjoys hunting, fishing, watching as well as playing a wide variety of sports, lifting weights, and playing guitar.
