Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mary Benz is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, but has lived in California, Kentucky, and Indiana before settling in the Chicago area. She attended Purdue University and received a B.S. in Biology in 1986. She went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May of 1990 where she also received the Upjohn award for proficiency in veterinary clinical medicine. She has been a full time veterinarian in the Chicago area since graduation.Dr. Benz has special interests in internal medicine - particularly oncology, endocrinology, and feline medicine. She regularly attends continuing education seminars to expand her knowledge. She is a member of AVMA, AAHA and the CVMA. Dr. Benz is happily married and has two wonderful children. They currently have three cats. Dr. Benz spends most of her spare time with her family and pets but also enjoys reading, quilting, and cooking.
