Veterinarian Overview
I received a bachelor arts degree from Bradley University in 1971 after attending Loyola University in Chicago one year and their Rome Center for the next. I also completed my pre-vet courses at ICC in Peoria and the University of Illinois. (clearly a child of the '60s). Graduation from the U of I College of Veterinary Medicine was in 1977. I worked two wonderful years at McKillip Animal Hospital before we bought Hyde Park Animal Clinic in 1981always loved animals and people. After working as a hospital orderly throughout college, I decided against nursing and human medicine. I don't know why it took me so long to connect with the idea of veterinary medicine, but it was the best decision of my life pinpoint a "moment" in veterinary medicine. There are constant rewards, celebrating the bonds people have with their pets, watching their children interact with pets; solving a puzzling internal medicine or surgical problem...it goes on and on always knew I wanted to have a diverse clientele. I felt the lakefront in Chicago offered the best opportunity and in Hyde Park I have met so many amazing people. I've been blessed to know them and appreciate their energy and many gifts.
