Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Anna Czekala was born in Poland but moved to Long Island, NY at 9 years old. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from SUNY Geneseo in NY. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois. After graduating vet school, Dr Czekala completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Animal Medical Center in NYC. While there, she rotated through Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Radiology and Dermatology. In 2010, she moved to Chicago and began working in the Emergency/Critical Care department at the Veterinary Specialty Center. She joined our practice in July 2015. Dr. Czekala is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. She has two dogs, a Pit Bull mix named Sabina and a Mastiff/Great Dane mix named Franklin.
