Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kristy Hook as our lead veterinarian and medical director of FFVCC. She was born and raised outside of Rockford, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BA in Speech Communication and Spanish, and then stayed on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Since then she has worked at several day practices around the QCA, and spent over 10 years at the local emergency center as well. She is interested in dermatology, behavior, soft tissue surgery, and geriatric/senior care. She is a strong advocate for patient care and comfort, and humane care of all animals. In her time away from the center, she stays very busy with her husband and four children in Wilton, IA. She enjoys running with her dogs, baking, gardening, camping, and watching all of her kids' sporting events. Her fur kids include 4 dogsBeatrice, Otis, Mavis, and Izzy, and 3 catsDub, Lois, and Stanley. She was first introduced to fear-free concepts at a veterinary conference in 2016 and has since become one of the first veterinarians in the QCA to become fear-free certified. She is beyond excited to meet you and welcome you to FFVCC!
