Back when he worked at the Deerfield Animal Care Center, Dr. Nick Sterner stayed late performing an after-hours emergency ovariohysterectomy on a rescue cat we had taken in. Her ovaries were filled with almost a pound of infected matter, near bursting, and she would have died if she hadn't received the surgery when she did. With a 50/50 prognosis, they managed to saver her life. The kitty is VERY difficult to crate, so Dr. Sterner did his follow-up exam and stitch-removal in our home, which was excellent. He has since moved to another practice, but we greatly appreciate his effort in saving our cat. He also performed two routine checkups on our dog, which went well.
