Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Steve Foxs parents were always math- and science-orientedhis mother worked as a registered nurse; his father, a mechanical engineerand they passed their passions and strong work ethic down to their son. Dr. Fox always knew that a career in the medical world would suit him well. When he took an animal health course in college, he knew that hed found his calling! Dr. Fox is from northwestern Chicago, and earned his undergraduate degree in zoology with minors in chemistry and environmental studies from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He then worked and volunteered in two separate veterinary clinics before being accepted into the veterinary program at the University of Illinois.After earning his Doctorate, Dr. Fox entered the emergency medicine field in 2008. He worked as an emergency and critical-care veterinarian for eight years, eventually becoming the medical director and head of the emergency department at another hospital. Now, Dr. Fox is an Associate Veterinarian with the Richmond Veterinary Clinic team, where he particularly enjoys performing surgical procedures and working with advanced diagnostics. Most of all, he loves educating his clientele so that they can make well-informed decisions for their beloved pets.When hes not at work, Dr. Fox can be found exercising, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife, Jamie, have two young children: three-year-old Olivia and baby Jacob. The family shares their home with Marley, a beagle/dachshund mix who loves playing fetch, as well as a cat named Kiki Meow.
