Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Auten earned both her Bachelor of Science in Biology (1998) and Master of Science in Biology (2000) degrees from Purdue University. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 after completing a clinical year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, Dr. Auten worked as a mixed animal veterinarian for several years. From 2009 to 2015, she practiced small animal medicine exclusively. She recently participated in a research project with the UC Davis ophthalmology department, focusing on sudden acquired retinal degeneration in dogs. She began her three-year residency program with Eye Care for Animals in 2015 and completed the 3 year residency program in 2018. Dr. Auten became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2019.
