Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Bob Seivers has been a member of the St. Francis' Pet Hospital team since March 2001. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association and the Central Indiana Veterinary medical Association. His professional interests include small animal medicine and general veterinary medicine.Dr. Seivers attended Vincennes University for his undergraduate degree, earning a Bachelor's in Animal Sciences in 1987. He attended Purdue University for his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1991.Dr. Seivers grew up in Vincennes, Indiana. At the age of 6, his family adopted their first dog. "Hot Dog was his name," says Dr. Seivers. "He was very good at escaping his pen. One time he got loose and came home hours later bleeding from his paw. We had to take him to the emergency veterinarian to stop the bleeding and for a transfusion. I came home covered in blood from head to toe that night, but all ended very well and Hot Dog lived." Dr. Seivers says Hot Dog's recovery was a major factor in his decision to become a veterinarian.Dr. Seivers and his wife Sarah, also a veterinarian, have two daughters: Molly and Grace. They share their home with two mix breed dogs, Sam and Bunny, as well as five cats: Coa Coa, Oliver, Cookie, Hoeboe Charlie and Lowie. In his free time, he enjoys going to the movies especially the Centerbook drive-in hiking in state parks, bow hunting, and gardening.
