Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jessica Cox has been a member of the St. Francis' Pet Hospital team since June 2007. She is a member of the American Veterinary medical Association and the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. After graduating valedictorian from Decatur Central High School, she attended Franklin College where she majored in biology. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University. Her professional interests include surgery and general veterinary medicine.Dr. Cox grew up in the Camby and Mooresville area and recalls bringing her family pets to St. Francis' Pet Hospital. She was also fascinated by animals at an early age and spent time at her aunt and uncle's farm in Tennessee. She grew up with dogs, cats, turtles, toads, rabbits, and even a pet crawdad."The most satisfying thing about being a veterinarian is the variety of cases we see every day," she says. "Our days are never the same."At home Dr. Cox has three rescue dogs, Dairy, Kean and Phoebe; and two cats, Campy and Sam. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her niece, Krista.
