Veterinarian Overview
Dr. McKaig is the owner of New Haven Pet Hospital and has provided care for area pets as a general practitioner since 1982. Dr. McKaig's family moved to Fort Wayne from Michigan when he was 12 years old. Dr. McKaig graduated from Wayne High School and attended Purdue University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1979. He continued on with his education at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. His professional interests include general medicine and surgery. He is a member and past president of Northeast Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association and also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.Dr. McKaig is married to Cindi, and they have four children, Kendra, Stephanie (Son-in-Law Brian), Alissa and Scott. Dr. McKaig spends his free time with his family, playing golf and reading. Dr. McKaig welcomed his first grandchild in September 2013
