Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Bill Hessman received a BS in 1983 and his DVM from Kansas State University in 1985. He returned to southwest Kansas after graduation and opened a mixed animal practice concentrating on feedyard consultation. Because of the impact that BVDV had with his feedyard clients, he began conducting research on BVDV in feedyard production systems. Dr. Hessman has conducted multiple studies with the USDA, Universities and IDEXX Laboratories. Considered to be an expert on BVDV in cattle production systems, Dr. Hessman has authored or co-authored multiple papers on BVDV and has presented this information nationally and internationally.
