Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Amy was born and raised in Joplin, MO. She has wanted to be a veterinarian as long as she can remember and got her first taste of this career in high school by working at a local small animal practice as a veterinary assistant. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 2009. (Woo pig sooie!) She also met her now-husband, Travis Youngblood, who has been her biggest fan ever since.Amy then attended Kansas State University for veterinary school. While a student, she held a strong interest in zoo and exotic medicine, as well as reproduction. Amy graduated vet school in May of 2013, married Travis, moved to Topeka (with their dog, cat, and three ferrets), and started working for University Bird and Small Animal Clinic in July of 2013. She is loving her new position in the clinic and is excited about her future in this community!
