Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Theresa is originally from Pennsylvania, but fell in love with Louisiana and the people of Louisiana when she moved here in 2001. She attended veterinary school at LSU, and is a die hard Tiger's fan (can you tell from the purple and gold logo?). Veterinary medicine was more of a calling for her, and something she has known she wanted to do as long as she can remember. Dr. Theresa thoroughly enjoys interaction with clients and their pets and sees her profession as a means to not only help animals, but to help their families provide the best care and nurture the human-animal bond. Her areas of special interest in veterinary medicine are internal medicine, dermatology, endocrinology and shelter medicine. She has worked with a number of rescue organizations over the years, providing both veterinary care as well as foster care for less fortunate homeless pets. While she doesn't currently have one, there is a special place in her heart for retired racing greyhounds. She was fortunate enough to be involved with volunteer work for a greyhound rescue in Pennsylvania, and hopes to soon get involved with one in south Louisiana. In her spare time Dr. Theresa likes spending time with her furry and feathered children. She and her husband Doug have 8 dogs, a cat and an umbrella cockatoo named Gumbo. She also enjoys gardening, reading, and is avidly involved in pursuing continuing education in the veterinary field. It is her belief, that only by keeping up to date on all the newest information in the medical fields, can she provide the utmost care, support and medical advice to her clients.
