Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Eugene Garcia was born and raised in New Orleans, where he graduated from Holy Cross high school in 1969. He went on to graduate from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. Dr. Garcia served four years in the United States Air Force as base veterinarian and clinical veterinarian for the USAF Military Working Dog Referral Clinic of Europe. Prior to his military service, Dr. Garcia practiced small animal medicine at a large private practice in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After two years at the helm of the Referral Clinic, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Dr. Garcia opened his own practice in 1978 at Bayou Animal Clinic in Slidell, Louisiana. Dr. Garcia is a past Treasurer and President of the Lacombe Chamber of Commerce. He is currently the chairman of the St. Tammany Parish Mosquito Abatement District. Dr. Garcia has been married to his wife Charlotte for 32 years. They have two children and three grandchildren. Dr. Garcia and Ms. Charlotte love their two dogs, Nevaeh and Nina. You can find Nina at our clinic every day, as she loves to go to work with Dr. Garcia!
